The new composition has brass replacing some nickel parts (two-piece valve casing, slides, bell braces), a thin-walled Malone leadpipe, and a french beaded, tab-welded, "YM" one-piece bell.

This steeply flared bell modification delivers a clear, richly defined tone. The YTR-9445NYS-YM-BR, C trumpet is offered in silver plate with a TRC801E double backpack case.
